Walking – Guests are welcome to walk through
the woods and over the farmland at Cappagh and there is Coillte Forestry
behind the estate for further walking. There are also many wonderful
walks in the area, a few of which are listed below. For more serious
walkers, the nearby Comeragh Mountains and Nire Valley provide a remarkably
varied range stretching from the coast near Dungarvan inland as far
as Clonmel.
- Some local woodland, river and coastal walks:
- , Cappoquin. River and
woodland. Several routes, for short or long version.
- . (Similar to above,
another lovely river and more woodland!)
- – above Lismore
on the road to Ballyduff.
- –
by the River Blackwater at Lismore
- – spectacular walk
to waterfalls.
- – circular walk from the historic village of Ardmore,
stunning scenery.
(St Declan’s
Way continues on all the way to the celebrated Rock of Cashel)
- , Ring. A wonderful walk
on a mile long ‘spit’ across Dungarvan Bay where you will
see
lots of bird
life.
This is a favourite
of ours and you can walk on sand or grass land.
