Cappagh is situated in the heart of West Waterford in the South East of Ireland and provides a wonderful base for exploring this unique and unspoilt part of Ireland. It is midway between the bustling seaside town of Dungarvan and the village of Cappoquin on the River Blackwater.

By Road

From East – Rosslare / Waterford:
From Rosslare & Waterford travel West on the N25 towards Cork. After approx 25 miles from Waterford you will drive down a sweeping hill as you approach the sea and the town of Dungarvan. 1 mile from the town centre take the N72 on the right, signed Killarney / Lismore. After approx 3 miles you will meet a junction at an ‘Esso’ garage. Turn right here. This is the road from Dungarvan and it continues on as the N72 (Killarney / Lismore). From this junction drive 3 miles. You will then come to an ‘S’ bend in the road. Here you will see the stone wall, Lodge and entrance gates of Cappagh House on your right hand side.

From South – Cork:
From Cork travel East on the N25 towards Dungarvan / Waterford / Rosslare. After approx 45 miles you will drive down a sweeping hill as you approach the sea and the town of Dungarvan. On entering the town turn left at the first round about, drive straight through the second round about and at the third roundabout (where you will see a Campus garage on your left) turn left, signed Killarney / Lismore (N72). From here drive approx 5 miles to Cappagh where you will come to an ‘S’ bend in the road. Here you will see the stone wall, Lodge and entrance gates of Cappagh House on your right hand side.

From North – Dublin:
From Dublin’s M50 take the N7(M7) signed Cork at junction 9. After approx 50 miles at Portlaoise, take the N8, signed Cork and continue to Cashel (approx 47 miles). From the Cashel bypass turn left on the R688, signed Clonmel.

On reaching Clonmel you will drive downhill to a roundabout. Drive straight through (signed ‘Town Centre’) and continue on until you reach a set of traffic lights. Turn right at these lights and continue on and straight through the next set of traffic lights. You will pass an ‘Aldi’ shop on the LHS and then go through a pedestrian crossing. After the pedestrian crossing take the 2nd road to the left. (There is a long wall & hospital on the RHS.) Continue straight down this road (with speed bumps!) to the traffic lights. Drive straight through at the lights and continue to the roundabout. Turn right, signed Dungarvan (Youghal) R665. After approx 400yards, turn left, signed Dungarvan (Youghal).

Stay on this road until you meet the N72 at a T-junction (approx 22 miles). There is a monument to the greyhound ‘Master McGrath’ on your right and an ‘Esso’ garage 150 yds to your left. Turn Right (signed Killarney/Lismore) and drive approx 3 miles to Cappagh where you will come to an ‘S’ bend in the road. Here you will see the stone wall, Lodge and entrance gates of Cappagh House on your right hand side.
